Introduction to Artificial Intelligence in Creative Practice, in-person
3 cr
AI is rapidly transforming creative work across music, visual arts, dance, design, writing, performance, and media. This course offers a practical and critical introduction to how AI tools are being used in contemporary creative practice and how artists can engage with them thoughtfully, experimentally, and ethically. Students will explore how artists and creative professionals are using AI tools for experimentation, ideation, composition, image-making, storytelling, interaction design, and more.
Alongside practical experimentation, the course examines key debates surrounding AI and creativity, including authorship, ethics, copyright, bias, labour, and the cultural impact of emerging technologies.
