Opin.fi is a joint service of Finnish universities and universities of applied sciences where open studies are easily available to you. By the end of 2025, you will find opportunities for open studies at 37 higher education institutions in one place.

Whether you want to focus on your interests, refresh your skills a bit or head in a completely new direction, Opin.fi is your tool for exploring the alternatives. Opin.fi makes finding and comparing open higher education studies easy.

For whom?

The service is meant for everyone who wants to develop their own competence, so you do not need a previous background in higher education studies. The service helps you find learning alternatives if, for example, you need new competence in working life, you are changing fields or you want to familiarise yourself with higher education studies before applying as a degree student.

How does Opin.fi work?

Opin.fi helps you find the studies that best suit your situation: you can familiarise yourself with the study opportunities of Finnish higher education institutions, browse and compare, choose and learn – anytime, anywhere, whether you are in Finland or abroad.

In the service, you can find studies in Finnish, Swedish and English, as both contact teaching and distance learning. Whether you are looking for a webinar, podcast or more comprehensive education, Opin.fi puts opportunities at your fingertips.

Browse and compare: Explore the wide range of education offered by different higher education institutions.

Filter your search: Use filters to find studies that are right for you. Remotely or present, at your own pace or scheduled, credits or not? You decide.

Get inspired by themes: The ten themes of the service bring together the most interesting studies on topical issues. Find what you're looking for... or maybe something completely new!

Identify yourself in the service: Once you have identified yourself, you can view your previous studies and manage your interests under personal data.

Save your favourites: If registration is not relevant for you right now, save the most interesting options for the future.

Register for studies: When registering for studies, you will move on to the higher education institution's own service - please also return to find other studies that interest you!

Opin.fi - Open for learning

The educational offering of the Opin.fi service will expand when all Finnish higher education institutions involved in its development join the service in 2025. The Digivisio 2030 project(Opens in a new tab) is responsible for building and developing the service, and HigherEd Hub Finland Oy(Opens in a new tab) is responsible for its operation.
