Product and Service Design

TUTA2270: Innovative Product Development or similar course is recommended before taking this course, but not mandatory.

During this course students will develop a broad understanding of product and service design, including key principles, tools, methodologies, and development processes. By the end of this course, students will be able to:
• identify and define product and service development contexts
• apply design theories, tools, and methods to develop and evaluate real products and services
• recognize the role of sustainability in product and service design
• make informed decisions regarding ethical responsibilities in product and service design

Furthermore, the course emphasizes interpersonal and communication skills (group work, team management, written reports, and presentations), critical and analytical thinking (assessment and interpretation of knowledge), and problem-solving abilities (application of knowledge), enabling students to analyze, design, and refine products and services effectively.
