Hållbarhetsomställning från ett systemperspektiv

After completing the study, it is intended that students can:

1. Describe different types of sustainability transformations, as well as systemic approaches for understanding them.
2. Demonstrate how systemic approaches can be used to understand the opportunities and barriers to sustainability transformations in different contexts.
3. Critically discuss the strengths and limitations of systemic approaches for enabling sustainability transformations.

Literature to be agreed with the person in charge of the course.

Lecture course / seminar with mandatory face-to-face meetings:
Participation in teaching (lectures, group work / excursions / seminar, midterm / final exam). The course includes compulsory face-to-face meetings and cannot be completed entirely by distance learning.

The course will comprise of the following assessments:

1) A reading journal where students will be expected to read and annotate contemporary peer-reviewed literature where they will describe different types of sustainability transformations, as well as systemic approaches to understanding these transformations.

2) Short quizzes in class where students will be expected to critically discuss the strengths and limitations of systemic approaches for enabling sustainability transformations.

Learning activities and methods will include in-class lectures, planned debates, role playing games and a field trip.

Open to all bachelor students of other degree programmes and exchange students.

The English version of this course will be offered in period 2 in odd years.  The Swedish version of this course will be offered in period 2 in even years.

Recommended for completion in the second or third year of study.

The course is included as compulsory  in Study module Environmental Policy

The course expires in 10 years.
