Cyber Security Base: Introduction to Cyber Security

There are no specific prerequisites. General understanding of computer systems and networks are recommended.

Upon completing the course the student will be able to

• explain to the current status of cyber security, and
• defend why cyber security is needed.

The course material consists of

• online material (https://cybersecuritybase.mooc.fi/(Öppnas i en ny flik)), and
• several external online materials (articles, videos). These links are specified in the course material.

Completion methods

Grading is based on the online essays and quizzes.

Assessment practices and criteria

The grading scale is pass/fail.

Completing quizzes, and essays will reward points. Students must obtain 85% of total points to pass the course.

Activities and teaching methods in support of learning

The course is a MOOC course with the study material available online.

A support channel (online chat) is provided.

The course is intended for Bachelor's students. Available also to students from different degree programmes.
