Perspectives to Digitalizing Society

The student is able to observe and critically and constructively analyze the effects of digitalization within societal services, structures and processes, from the point of view of what can be considered as good life for individuals and societies.

The student is aware of some of the risks and possibilities offered by data analysis and visualization methods and the ways in which they can be utilized, concerning to whether individuals are being heard and whether societal participation is facilitated. 

Together with others the student is able to constructively observe a particular societal sub-process, and consider whether or not it reflects and implements the values, goals and central concepts connected with a good society for all.

Collaboration, conversation and presentation skills are learned as well.

Literature will be provided prior to the course at the learning platform.

Contact teaching. Active participation and weekly written assignments. A short oral presentation near the end of the course on a selected topic.
