Check any prerequisites in the "Prerequisites" section.

The course covers the basics of fluid mechanics based on a continuous matter model. The course includes the concepts of system and control volume, basic equations of fluid statics and fluid mechanics, conservation of mass and calculation of pipe flow. In addition, viscosity, surface tension, flow classification and visualization, and the origin and effects of cavitation are examined. The course introduces applications of flow calculation and injection systems operating at common pressure in diesel engines and the flow calculation related to them.
The calculation exercises in the course partially utilize the open source numerical calculation program Scilab.
