This is an advanced-level course in a master’s degree programme, which requires appropriate prior higher education studies in the field. The course focuses on the challenges and opportunities of decision-making in accordance with the responsible, sustainable and ethical operations of a company. The course offers versatile approaches for sustainable and ethical business and to evaluate trade-offs between different outcomes in responsible decision making. The course examines the challenges of responsible business from the roles of the consumer, management and other stakeholders of the company. Problem-based case assignments are used to approach problem-solving situations that challenge responsibility faced by corporate management and other market participants. Based on the learning material, the students discuss decision-making situations in small groups and work on a theoretically justified solution for each given task based on the discussion and the material.
