Face-to-face

Real functions of several variables, vector differential and integral calculus and their applications including the central ideas of vector analysis with particular regard to applications in electric and magnetic fields. Partial derivatives, gradients, directional derivatives, differentiability, tangent level, the concepts of gradients, divergence and curls; applications, plane and volume integrals as well as polar, cylinder and ball coordinates, parametrization of surfaces and three dimensional figures, applications; such as areas and volumes described via surfaces, the mass and centre of gravity of bod-ies, energy integrals, plane and space curves.Vector analysis; cross products and scalar triple products, divergence, curl, the concept of potential functions, curvilinear coordinate systems, the Green, Gauss, and Stokes theorems and their applications e.g. in vector fields, particularly for the flow and flux calculations of electric and magnetic fields.
