Transformation Design

5 cr

Registration open
Face-to-face

Technology has transformed industry after industry reshaping our world, solving and creating problems, and continually challenging the status quo. We will explore the mechanisms and decision processes the drive industrial innovation, the elements of successful disruptive strategies, and share tools to help you better understand why some innovations succeed while others fail and fade into obscurity.
The course will cover the processes, management, strategy, research & development, and execution of transformative innovation strategies: from the earliest spark of an idea through to the delivery of sustainable products and services at scale, that change how we live, work and play.
A significant theme of the course will be risk: understanding risk, why innovations fail and how to reduce the inherent risk of innovation and techniques to encourage investment in innovation.
A simple framework will be presented to help you find opportunities to transform an industry, analyze the position of existing suppliers, identify opportunities for substitution, develop a strategic approach to transformation, determine the desirability, feasibility and viability of the innovation thesis and finally create a high-level investment proposal.
