Research Update in Strategic Management

This course introduces the core questions of strategic management and helps you understand how companies build success in changing business environments. The course examines what strategy means, how companies operate, why firms differ from one another, and which factors explain business success and failure.
This course is particularly well-suited for the beginning of master’s studies, as it develops essential skills in academic information retrieval, identifying research gaps, conducting critical literature reviews, and producing academic texts.
The course is based on current research in strategic management and develops your ability to understand, analyze, and evaluate business activities in changing environments. You will become familiar with the key areas of strategic management: strategic analysis, strategic choices, and strategy implementation. At the same time, you will learn how to interpret research-based knowledge and apply it to practical business development.

- major schools of strategy, such as positioning, the resource-based view, and dynamic capabilities
