Strategy Work (Kokkola)

The course is highly intensive and lasts for the large part of the semester. It requires the student to engage deeply and commit fully.

The course progresses in three phases. In the first phase, students independently familiarize themselves with the key concepts and models of strategic management through an interactive online lecture, short videos, and up-to-date learning materials. Learning is reinforced through an online test completed in the learning environment.

In the second phase, students apply their learning in practice through a strategy project carried out in collaboration with a partner company. This part of the course includes two mandatory on-campus sessions consisting of lectures, discussions with experts, and practical company collaboration. The project work is completed in small groups and supported by online coaching sessions with company representatives and instructors. At the end of the project, students present their solutions and also learn from the work of other groups. The course cannot be completed without participation in the mandatory on-campus sessions.

In the final phase, students consolidate their learning through an essay assignment in which they reflect on their learning process, their work during the course, and the development of their expertise.
