The course examines the cooperative business model from different perspectives and themes. The aim is to create a bridge of knowledge into working life. The understanding of the business model lays the foundation for successful working in key positions in various cooperative enterprises as an employee, in trust/board positions and as an active member also in cooperative meetings and representative councils.

The course develops the student's ability to work in expert and managerial positions as well as in positions of trust and board of directors in cooperative enterprises.

Upon completion of the course, the student:

Recognizes personal and related involvement in cooperative activities;
Understands the idea, values and principles of cooperative activities;
Understands the patterns of business organization and the use of the cooperative model in various industries, as well as the sources and direction of the competitive advantage of cooperative enterprises;
Understands the importance of cooperative enterprises for overall security, security of supply and ownership of infrastructure;
Understands the rise of the socio-historic background to the cooperative model.
