Change, Leadership and Complexity

Tämä on maisteritutkinnon syventävän tason opintojakso, joka edellyttää hallintotieteiden aineopintotasoisia tietoja ennen kurssin aloittamista.

After completing the course, the student will be familiar with the concepts of complexity sciences and wicked problems and understand their impacts on change and leadership. Through this, the student will be able to challenge linear problem-solving methods and leadership styles. The student will be able to identify and draw conclusions about complex phenomena at both organizational and system levels in accordance with their major, either in the context of social and health care or public administration.

The course deepens the mastery of the following common learning objectives of the Master's program in administrative sciences: understanding administrative systems and the ability to lead development work that takes societal needs into account. Additionally, the student will develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills. In terms of sustainable development, the goal is to learn to develop effective, responsible, and transparent institutions at all levels and to promote partnerships between the public and private sectors and civil society.
