The course emphasizes 1-D engine modeling, offering hands-on experience in system-level analysis and design.

The course is designed to provide students with fundamental knowledge in modelling the cycle of an internal combustion engine. After building the model, the student can simulate how the changes in engine components and parameters affect the performance and operation of the modelled engine cycle. The course develops problem solving and decision-making skills, critical thinking, analytical way of working, literal and oral expression and promotes life-long learning plus collaboration and ICT skills.
