Independent Laboratory Project Work or Literature Work in Industrial Management

Participating this course gives the student possibility to conduct independent work. The course approach is practical, hands on approach and enables students to advance on their own pace. The course work is often based on something that you do / did (or observed) at laboratory, research project or at your work. The starting point is to have a problem or something to improve. The course can be based on either some development work that you have actually done or on some interesting issue that you have observed. Then students need to find relevant theory for improvement task or problem and create an improvement plan or solution(s). Some of the topics of this course provide possibility to use advanced technologies (Technobothnia 3D printing and Scanning workshop) in Digital Manufacturing & Virtual Factory Labs
The literature review part of the course literature examines key technological advances and explores potential technical and economic benefits using examples from real-world applications. It presents a literature review of existing research covering Industrial management issues in the context of Industry 4.0 AI, IoT, VR and AR Papers are classified according to technology framework which allows students to identify selected group of technologies based on their interest. Also with this alternative course approach is pragmatic, self-study enables students to advance on their own pace. The course materials are available at the Moodle page and there are no classroom sessions.
