The Future of Wellbeing Systems

Tämä on maisteritutkinnon syventävän tason opintojakso, joka edellyttää hallintotieteiden aineopintotasoisia tietoja ennen kurssin aloittamista.

Upon completing the course, the student will be able to identify the challenges posed by national and international developments for envisioning and developing the future of welfare services. The aim of the course is to provide the student with an opportunity to develop an understanding of the need for and prerequisites of futures consciousness within the sustainable welfare system. The student understands the significance of development trends and futures consciousness in the planning, administration and leadership of welfare services.

The course deepens the student’s mastery of the following shared learning outcomes of the social and health administration specialization: the ability to understand the welfare system as a whole, including the tensions and paradoxes connected to it as well as the changing operating environment; the ability to make future-oriented decisions and respond to the needs of service users; and the ability to utilize digital competencies. From the perspective of sustainable development, the aim is to learn to develop effective, responsible and transparent service structures, to promote health and well-being in society, and to foster partnerships between the public and private sectors and civil society.
