Contents of the course are as bellow:

It begins with an introduction to CFD and its applications, followed by mathematical foundations, including Navier-Stokes equations and their numerical solutions through discretization methods like Finite Volume, Finite Difference, and Finite Element techniques. The course delves into solution algorithms such as SIMPLE and PISO, turbulence modeling (RANS, LES), and heat transfer simulation. Students will gain hands-on experience using OpenFOAM to set up, run, and post-process simulations for basic and advanced cases, such as multiphase flow and heat transfer. The course also introduces commercial software like ANSYS Fluent for comparison and broader exposure. It emphasizes mesh generation, validation, and verification of CFD models, concluding with a practical project where students apply their learning to real-world problems, reinforcing their skills in both open-source and commercial tools.
