After completing the course, the student is familiar with wave motion, basic phenomena related to optics, and thermodynamics. The student is able to visually outline problems related to the said phenomena and to solve them eg. utilizing the mathematical laws. After the laboratory module, the student will be able to use computer-aided, basic scientific and technical measuring instruments under controlled conditions, and recognize the connection between phenomena and experimental measurements. The student is familiar with the basics of scientific reporting and is able to evaluate the reliability of the measurement. The course develops critical and analytical thinking, written expression and collaborative skills.
