The section on the history of knowledge investigates the dynamics of knowledge formation and dissemination, as well as the individuals and entities engaged in these processes. Positioned within the broader realm of historical inquiry, the history of knowledge represents a relatively recent scholarly framework, closely intertwined with the discipline of history of science. This interdisciplinary field scrutinizes diverse epistemological frameworks beyond scientific paradigms, exploring various modes of apprehending the world. Central to its inquiry are investigations into the trajectories of knowledge, the agents propelling its circulation, and the mechanisms governing its reception and assimilation.

Upon concluding this section, students attain foundational knowledge within the field and develop a comprehension of the research perspectives and methods employed in the study of the history of knowledge. They demonstrate an awareness of the core themes within this disciplinary domain and possess a rudimentary understanding of its fundamental characteristics. Furthermore, the students are equipped to apply their acquired knowledge, notably in the formulation and execution of their theses.
