Karelia and Karelians in Tver

Upon completion of the course, the student is able to

• describe the history and traditions of Karelians in the region of Tver and other subsidiary Karelian regions
• name the most important characteristics of Tver Karelian
• recognise the current linguistic status of Tver region Karelians
• describe current and previous research on Tver Karelian

The course develops the following work life skills: Karelian language expert knowledge on Karelians in Tver and Tver Karelian (utilisable in, for instance, language teaching, revitalisation, and language planning); independent information searching, source criticism, grasping large concepts and condensing read content into an independent text

Generic competences: digitalization, internationality, sustainability and responsibility, critical thinking, identification and development of expertise

Time:
Mode 1: Course is not held every year. The timing of the course in the academic year varies
Mode 2: Entire academic year, no appointed submission date. If you wish to complete the course in the summer, arrange the matter with the responsible teacher by the end of May
