Finnish 1A

The course does not require previous Finnish studies. The course is for complete beginners.

The student can greet others, introduce themselves, give a brief description of themselves and ask and provide information in Finnish. The student understands simple spoken and written messages and can produce them themselves. The student knows the most important features of Finnish and knows something about the Finnish way of life. The student knows basic vocabulary and structures.

The objective is to attain the level A1.1 of the Common European Framework of Reference.

Online materials

The course is open to all students in English bachelor’s or master’s degree programmes, doctoral students, faculty staff and international exchange students. The student may start the course after they have received a right to study; credits may be earned only by students who are registered as an attending student.

Degree and exchange students as well as doctoral researchers, please note that the link to the independent online course (MOOC) materials and the course key for the course platform can be found in the group-specific additional information in Peppi for each implementation, unless the teacher provides other instructions. Students participating in contact teaching will receive the link to the materials and the course key for eLearn Moodle from the teacher after the registration period has ended, unless the teacher instructs otherwise.
