On completion of the course, the student will:
• recognise the importance of robotics and automation systems in society,
• know the basic structure of the most common robots and the hardware and software components required for robotic solutions,
• know the basic robotics hardware and software requirements, the basic principles of robotics, the robotics software, the robot hardware and software components, and the basic principles of robotics and robotics systems,
• work safely with the most common electronic components needed in robotics projects,
• define and configure the hardware required for simple robotics projects,
• be able to design and implement a simple robotics project.

The course will develop the following generic skills:
Problem solving, project management, teamwork, presentation skills.
