Criminology is an branch of science that studies the causes, consequences, and prevention of crime. Criminology is a highly multidisciplinary field of research that utilizes, for example, sociology, medicine, psychology, education and law. Thus, criminology is not united by a certain method or theoretical trend, but by common object of research. It aims to reduce the harm caused by crime and is therefore closely linked to criminal politics. Jurisprudence's strength has been considered to be research that provides recommendations that guides criminal politics action proposals based on criminological research data.
