Church Music for Theologians

The course begins with an introduction to the types of hymns in the Orthodox Church and their use in worship. This is followed by a practical introduction to the most important hymns and the basics of hymn singing. The course also introduces the melodic forms of the oral tradition of recitative reading, progressing from the simplest to the most solemn and melodic, depending on the level of each participant.
In addition, the course will explore the basics of the sustainable use of sound and seek to discover, through vocal exercises, a resonating use of the voice.
