BSocSc: Introduction to sociology

The course provides insight on sociology as discipline: its historical development, main research problems and topical fields. The course introduces basic concepts, classics, and theoretical approaches to understand social phenomena at different levels of social life. Sociological research that shows how social relations shapes social action and individuals’ understanding of themselves and each other is also introduced.
