The course covers the basics of animal ethics and foundations of animal law and policy. It introduces the main theoretical concepts and perspectives of human-animal studies in the context of animal law and policy. Focus is mostly on domesticated, farm and companion animals, less on wildlife. Perspective is not on environmental or natural resources issues, but the course offers an alternative - animal centric approach – to human-animal relations.
