Preparatory course in electroacoustic music

This unit is an introduction to methods, tools and workflows for composing in the electroacoustic music studio. The unit covers audio technology and electroacoustic music concepts and ideas. The sessions explore topics leading to independent work at the studio including: the electroacoustic signal chain from microphones to loudspeakers, software basics for editing and mixing, and ways of integrating electronic and acoustic instruments in the studio. The course is also a platform for reflecting through practical exercises on the aesthetic possibilities of working with recorded and synthetic sound materials in the context of sound composition. This is the introductory course and a prerequisite for all other courses in electroacoustic music composition.
