Cultural policy frameworks and trends

A student who has completed the unit is expected to:

• understand the framework of Cultural Policy
• be able to recognize the models of cultural policies
• be able to understand and analyze the instruments of cultural policy
• be able to understand the main dilemmas in cultural policy framework
• be able to understand the UN, European Union, national and local Cultural Policies
• be aware of the new trends in Cultural Policy discourse including the “new reality” after COVID 19
• understand the new trends in cultural policies related to digitalization
• recognise the connections between the various local and national authorities, policy-making structures, structures of resource allocation and funding bodies in the arts
• identify the role of creative class in cultural planning practices
• distinguish the indicators and impacts of cultural planning
• to be able to analyze and understand the marketing for cities
• to be able to understand the concept of Creative Cities and urban regeneration
