Intermediate studies
  • Electromagnetic induction, Lenz's and Faraday's laws. Eddy currents.
  • Ampere-Maxwell's law, displacement currents.
  • Maxwell's equations and constitutive equations, interface conditions.
  • Fundamentals of wave phenomena. Utilization of phasor analysis in field problems. Monochromatic plane waves (dielectric and lossy media, material interfaces), reflection, attenuation, polarization.
  • Electromagnetic energy/power, Poynting's theorem.
  • Example applications and their modeling principles (transformers, antennas, electric machines, ...).
