VR Systems and Humans
The course focuses on critical concepts from human physiology and perception and how they impact the development of VR hardware, software, and content. Students attend lectures and complete quizzes while building and evaluating their own VR experience as a final project. No prerequisites required.

Overview of human physiology, neuroscience, and human perception in relation to VR. Depth and scale perception. Perception of screen resolution, perception of motion. Perceptually optimal parameters for frame rate, latency, and drift in VR systems. Perceptual training. Comfort and VR sickness. Psychophysical experiments. Design of human subjects experiments.
