Students are familiar with the central trends in literary and cultural history in the German-speaking world from the 17th century to the post-war period, can explain their historical contexts, and name important representatives and works. They are able to describe similarities and differences between styles and recognize characteristic stylistic features typical of the respective eras in exemplary text passages or image examples.
