Development of Language and Communication: Stages of the Language Development of Children (OPEN UNIV)

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to

• describe the development of different aspects of language and the progression of development in typically developing children
• describe the language development of bilingual and multilingual children and identify the role of culture and language environment in the acquisition of language, speech and communication skills
• identify basic concepts and terms related to different aspects of language
• to search for and use scientific information
• communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, with experts in their field and with the general public
• use their interpersonal skills in a constructive, respectful and collaborative way
