This course supports these skills by developing mathematical reasoning and the ability to understand various proof techniques. The course introduces the basics of logic and teaches both direct and indirect proof methods. In some cases, arguments can also be made using examples, counterexamples, or mathematical induction. Thus the course covers the fundamental methods of mathematical reasoning.
