Introduction to European Health Data Space (OPEN UNI)

The course has no prerequisites.

By completing the course, the student will:

• Be able to describe the basics of digital health and healthcare in the EU.
• Be able to describe the EHDS regulation and its motivation.
• Acquire a working knowledge of the infrastructure proposed to implement EHDS.
• Have a basic understanding of the legislations like GDPR, Act on Secondary use of data, Data Act, AI Act, etc.
• Be able to describe the security and privacy requirements in the context of EHDS and digital health.
• Navigate, understand, and comment on the EHDS skills and competence framework
• Demonstrate the above knowledge by developing a proposal for innovation under EHDS
• Demonstrate the role of EHDS in the specific case of rare disease
• Demonstrate how EHDS can benefit protected groups, e.g., indigenous population.
