After completing the course, the student is able to

• describe past trends of special education
• describe and analyze key special pedagogical values
• describe different models of disability
• recognize the tiers of pedagogical suppoer and related legislation and pedagogical documents
• look at special pedagogical activities in practice
• recognize the dimensions of sustainability (social, ecological, economic, cultural)
• recognize the differences and similarities between their own field of study and related fields

Completing the course requires students to participate and work in teaching/educational situations, independent observation and understanding of observation, and assessment skills. Students perform tasks that require, among other things, particular accuracy, reliability, independent judgment, good responsiveness, reliable performance, and an understanding of confidentiality.
