Language Variation and Change (OPEN UNI)

Structure of Finnish, Introduction to General Linguistics and Phonetics, Phonology and Morphology

Students will be able to display knowledge of the position of Finnish among the Uralic languages, the main characteristics of the areal variation of Finnish and the main features of the development of standard Finnish.
Upon completion of the course, students will have developed the following generic competences:

1. Analytical, critical, and creative thinking skills (including the ability to analyse information and identify essential elements), 2) Well-being and self-development skills (effective time management, self-leadership, and the capacity to take responsibility for one’s actions and overall well-being).
