Metropolia Music Concerts

A taster course in music for upper secondary students.
The student attends Metropolia’s concerts three times and keeps a diary about them.

Both classical and pop/jazz concerts are organised throughout the academic year at the Arabia campus. Some concerts are also streamed. Students majoring in Early Childhood Music Education and Cultural Wellbeing also organise music events that it is possible to attend.

The study unit consists of independent tasks before and after the concert, as well as participation in the event itself. One (1) credit comprises three (3) concert visits.

The independent task includes:
A description of preparation for the concert (which concerts you will attend, what music will be performed, who will perform, what you know in advance about the composers or pieces, etc.) and reflection on the concert (what you liked, how well you think the musicians performed, etc.).
