Content and dates

The study unit consists of four (4) components:
- The social and healthcare service system, key legislation and ethical principles (1 credit)
- Structured record-keeping and participatory documentation (1 credit)
- Health promotion (1 credit)
- Patient safety, infection prevention and the fundamentals of aseptic practice (1 credit)
Learner's time use and workload
The extent of the study unit is 4 credits.
1 credit means 27 hours of student work (108 hours in total).
Time is allocated to familiarising oneself with the materials, independently studied reading material, video lectures, revision for examinations, and completing examinations and assignments.
Teaching methods
The study unit is completed entirely in Metropolia's Moodle learning environment. The study unit is open from 1 June 2026 to 31 July 2027 and may be completed at your own pace within this period.
