After completing the course, the student is able to explain what is meant by harmonic oscillation, harmonic waves, interference and diffraction, is able to define the quantities describing waves (amplitude, period, frequency), is able to explain the behavior of the wave as the medium changes (reflection, refraction) and is able to explain dispersion. In addition, the student knows how to apply the presented theories to solve simple problems and is able to evaluate the reasonableness of the result of the problem he/she has solved.
