Childhood, Adolescence and Development in Growth Environments

Basic studies in psychology

After completing the course, the student has deepened his or her knowledge about the interaction between the individual and the environment and the contexts of development, from the perspectives of children's and youth's socio-emotional development and learning. He or she understands the importance of neurobiological, social and contextual factors in the development of children and adolescents, as well as the individual's involvement in these phenomena. After completing the course, the student is able to fluently use key developmental psychological concepts and can describe widely the child and adolescent development and and the factors influencing this development.

Mode 2 of study (independent studying in English) is available for foreign students visiting Jyväskylä University only. Course can be used as a part of CIPA module only if not included as a part of another study module such as "Psykologian aineopinnot".
