The aim of the course is increasing your understanding of working with families, especially from the perspective of child welfare work.

Intended learning outcomes:

You know how to plan, carry out and evaluate a family work process that is safe for the client, supporting the client's participation and resources. You are able to support the growth, development, and everyday life of family members in a goal-oriented manner in different life situations. You understand the significance of family work and know how to deal with different change and crisis situations of a client. You understand the importance of supporting parenting and an intimate partner relationship as part of family work.

You recognise and evaluate the significance of societal phenomena and power structures as well as their impact on families' possibilities to operate in society. You know how to promote and strengthen the agency and participation of family members.
