Learning in international development projects: Insights from a coordinating agency

Hanna Laitinen examines knowledge needs and learning processes in international higher education development projects, drawing on Jamk’s experience as a coordinating agency. Based on interviews with project staff, the article identifies key types of knowledge and ways in which learning occurs in complex transnational contexts.

The article focuses on HEI ICI projects funded by Finland’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs (2020–2024), which aimed to enhance pedagogical capacity and digital learning in Ethiopia, Mozambique, and Nepal.
