Purpose of the course
The course explores the fundamentals of ethical leadership from a corporate security perspective. The focus of learning is on how values, moral reasoning, and ethical principles guide organizational activities and support a secure, trustworthy, and responsible operating environment. The course provides an overall understanding of how ethical leadership strengthens trust, fairness, and responsible decision-making as part of corporate security and risk management.

Competencies for learning
Responsible Management Competence:
You will recognize the importance of responsible practices in corporate security and understand the role of strategic stakeholders and partners in supporting secure and ethically sustainable business operations.

Ethics: You will identify ethical perspectives in various corporate security contexts. The course provides an overview of how ethical principles and values are connected to leadership, decision-making, diversity consideration, and responsible organizational culture. Principles of good professional practice are examined as part of reliable and secure operations.

Internationality and Multiculturalism: You will recognize ethical issues related to multiculturalism and international operating environments from a corporate security perspective and take cultural differences into account as part of secure operating practices.

Learning Outcomes: After completing the course, you will be able to identify key theories, principles, and values of ethical leadership and understand their significance in corporate security, work communities, and organizational management. You will be able to examine ethical leadership as part of stakeholder relationships and a diverse working life, and reflect on your own ethical values and actions from a general corporate security perspective.

The course content is derived from the Ethical Leadership course in the Master’s Degree Programme in Management and Leadership, specializing in Responsibility and Service Management.
