This course focuses on legal cultures/traditions and also offers an introduction to methodological issues related to comparative study of law. Teaching consists of lectures, group assignments, and written essay comparing at least two major legal traditions. In essence, course introduces students to comparative perspective on law and legal studies against the backdrop of common law, civil law, and religious laws (Islam, Hindu).
