Intermediate Course in Logic or similar

This unit will deepen knowledge of the tools acquired in the previous courses (FILK-114 and FILK-212) and consider applications of these tools to philosophically informed questions and concepts that will help the student prepare for the Master's thesis.

Handouts and selected readings from research articles and textbooks will be provided during the course.

Completion methods

Lecture course or an essay on a topic to be agreed by the instructor. 

If the resources allow the course can be part of open university studies. The method of completion may differ from the program in the case of open university studies.

Contents

The course will vary with the teacher but it will include topics such as modal, temporal and epistemic logic, intuitionistic logic, conditional logic, counterfactuals, and non-normal modal logics, higher-order logics.
