Investments and Financial Planning

Prior attendance of an introductory general accounting and/or finance course

This course introduces the financial planning of a business, financial markets, the basics of investment theory and business analysis from a business economics perspective. Students will learn about the financial market, financial instruments, their valuation, the various reporting, investment metrics and calculations as well as the factors affecting the profitability of investments.

· have an overview of the financial aspects of a food business, including investment and working capital planning and financial budgeting.

· be familiar with the different corporate finance tools and the role of financial and non-financial reporting indicators in investment decision-making.

· be familiar with the main theories and concepts of financial markets, the main financial instruments and valuation models, and understand how financial markets work.

· be able to apply knowledge to prepare the necessary analyses, calculations and reports.
