After completing the course, students will have acquainted themselves with the diverse field of ageing studies, in particular social and cultural gerontology studies. Students will gain a varied understanding of the topics, concepts and approaches of ageing studies. Among other things, they will acquaint themselves with the interaction between age, time and generation, relations between different generations as well as the metamorphoses of ageing.
