Welfare State

The student can explain the theoretical perspectives for analysing welfare states and their development and can distinguish between policy traditions. The student can interpret the development of welfare state models and can apply welfare state theories to explain policy choices and differences. The student can critically discuss the multiple and profound challenges faced by contemporary welfare states. The student can apply the central concepts presented in the course materials to their own academic writing.

Second period. The timing of other possible options will be determined in the teaching programme.

For degree students in the Bachelor’s Programme in Social Research, the recommended time of completion is the second year of studies.
