Registration period closed
Intermediate studies

The course discusses in theory and practice 3D data acquisition methods from geodesy, photogrammetry and laser scanning. In addition, we discuss the use of remote sensing in monitoring the environment, and utilizing digital data collection methods for monitoring societal phenomena and human activities. We discuss passive and active imaging methods and their various platforms, such as satellites, aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, cars etc., and typical sensors and data collection methods that allow research on human activities in an urban environment. We also discuss the basics of georeferencing spatial data and instruments in the desired reference frame, by positioning and navigation in real-time or by post-processing. Furthermore, we examine the basics of electromagnetic radiation and spectral properties of common surfaces from the perspective of remote sensing.
